FAQs

Why Easter?

It is a time when so many are forgotten and we want to celebrate the most special time of the year. Alleluia Baskets strives to bring the best to the recipients so they can become empowered to know there are people who care and they can have hope for a better tomorrow.

Why don't the baskets have grass in them?

There is more room for love when the grass is not included!  And the grass is messy and  money can be spent on items the recipients can use.

Do you accept things that are not new?

We accept new or like new books, stuffed animals and colorful Easter baskets from smoke free homes.

Why can't I donate used toys?

We strive to provide the best for the recipients to have the dignity and respect they deserve. It is much more special to have new items. It allows them to know they are worthy.

Is this all Alleluia Baskets does?

In addition to providing joy to those underserved at Easter with a fun filled basket we also participate in community events such as Trunk or Treats in St. Peters and O'Fallon, Easter Egg hunts in St. Peters and O'Fallon, 4th of July Parade in St. Charles and three major fundraisers.

What is our greatest need?

The most needed items vary from items for boys 9+ years old, teens and essentials like baby wipes for babies and toilet paper for the senior adults.  Of course, financial support is always appreciated.

Who and where do you serve?

We serve newborn to 18 years of age boys and girls and senior adults living at or below the poverty level in Missouri and Illinois. We are inclusive, we do not discriminate on race, creed, color and national origin. We have expanded to several other states for special circumstances.

How are we supported?

We are blessed to have the support of several companies, monthly donors and the success of our fundraising. We are always seeking more monthly donors from companies and individuals. Every dollar is appreciated and used to the maximum potential.

How does one register to receive an Easter basket?

If you are someone in need or know of someone in need, you would email alleluiabaskets@gmail.com

How can I volunteer?

One of the most common ways to volunteer is to fill Easter baskets with family, friends, co-workers, etc for an hour from January to 3 weeks prior Easter. Check out the calendar tab on the website for instructions.

What can I do to help?

There are a variety of ways one can help, you can choose to have your birthday gifts be the needs of Alleluia Baskets and then donate the items, you can get some friends together to collect needed items and bring them to Alleluia Baskets, you can contact your employer to see if they match contributions, you can remember someone for a special occasion with a donation and Alleluia Baskets will send a note with your intention, you can like, share and comment on our social media platforms, you can pray for us, send us happy thoughts and tell everyone you know about us! (Maybe these should be bullet points??)

What does it mean to be 100% volunteer based?

Everyone, including the founder, works from their heart with  much dedication and declines a salary or stipend.

Do the recipients get candy?

Each basket is created with the age of the recipient in mind. Therefore, depending on the age will determine the treat that is included in their baskets. Some will have candy, some will have animal crackers, and some will have chips.
