Cupid works at Alleluia Baskets

Tis the season of Love and Chocolates-Are we speaking of Cupid working on Valentine’s day or Alleluia Baskets.

February is the busiest month for both great events. And they have so much in common.

Many associate Valentines day with chocolates and Love. Richard Cadbury was the one who in 1861 started to box chocolates in a heart shaped box. A box with frills like lace and ribbons that would make the chocolate incidental . This gave men the opportunity to place the best flavors in the box for a lady.

Alleluia Baskets can relate to those, we place chocolate in most Easter baskets BUT Love goes into every basket.

Cupids arrow is known to provide passionate love for those who are shot by it.

You can almost imagine the arrow of the cupid sending lots of love to each child or senior adult who will receive the basket.  That passionate love exists at Alleluia Baskets.

More than cupid work at Alleluia Baskets, they are the core volunteers. These amazing volunteers are full of passion for others. They give several hours of time each week to accept donations, clean items, take off price tags, fill Easter eggs, clean bathrooms, prep for fundraisers and so much more!! Each one has a reason for being there, love for children, love for helping others, love for senior adults, and love for God. This core team of people provides the opportunity for donations to be dropped off to the location and easily inventoried for baskets. Each one will greet you at the door with a smile and a hand to help carry in the items. Their work is passionate!! I wonder if they are shot by the Cupid on a regular basis!

Then an army of volunteers come in between January and April for one hour shifts to help fill the Easter baskets or to help with tasks that are needed. Those people are excited, passionate about learning more about Alleluia Baskets and ready to do the work at hand. The end of the hour comes quickly and no one wants to leave. This indicates the love and joy are overflowing.

There are some behind the scene volunteers who are assisting Alleluia Baskets, they are boar members who meet monthly to help us grow and be better than we were yesterday, the person who saves boxes at and brings them to us on a as needed basis, the person who creates the Basket Bulletin to attract people to read it, the social media person who keeps Alleluia Baskets alive on all the platforms. And the generous supporters who give monthly, quietly so lights stay on and the insurance is paid. There is a plethora of people who donate, without everyone listed we can not make Alleluia Baskets happen!!

Cupid is working hard to bring passion to others and we have a team of many great passionate people providing joy and building a community.

If you are considering volunteering more than one hour please reach out to the organization and we would take the time to speak with you and see where it could happen. www.alleluiabaskets.org

Happy Valentine’s Day, may your day be filled with passion!!
